About The Starlight Club

Title: The Starlight Club

Author: Joe Corso

Genre: Crime

The Starlight Club was jumping...

"They  looked like mob guys. They had that arrogance exuded by those who liked to intimidate - those who were the proud purveyors of fear." Amidst the nightly gaiety was the back room where business deals were made, hits were ordered, and territories were divided.

Trenchie not being "rat" is just released from his ten year prison sentence. A new life is waiting - complete with envelopes of money and a steak house to call his own. He finds the woman of his dreams who brings along ex-husband baggage. Hit ma Jimmy The Hat finds unexpected fame in the most unlikely of places, yet he always stays true to the "boys", especially Big Red. "Crazy Joe Callo" and his brothers break away from the Profaci family and go "rogue, on their own now. They split their gang into several small groups and spread them out over the five boroughs."

The Starlight club can be purchased on amazon http://www.amazon.com/The-Starlight-Club-Volume-1/dp/0615690491/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1395420084&sr=8-1&keywords=the+starlight+club

Author Bio

Move to Florida, see the world and... write fifteen novels? It may have started out as the typical retirement, but author Joe Corso decided to take a more adventurous route. After a successful, yet tearful, career as a fireman, Corso began writing as a way to fund the Ivy League educations of his grandchildren. He published his first book at 75, and since has written fifteen novels and nine short stories.

One of his most pupular novels, The Starlight Club, won the 2012 eLit True Crime category and an honorable mention in the 2013 Reader's Favorite contest in the Historical non-fiction category. With cross-genre skills, Corso has written Westerns, Gritty Crime Dramas, and even Fantasy. He has received a tremendous reception from his work "Fire Stories" by man y Fire Departments. Rising from teh ashes, retired New York Firefighter Joe Corso finds himself lost in his writing, hoping never to find his way back.

Thai Festival North Dallas

I found the images from May's Thai Festival in North Dallas. I figured I would post this marketing three months from that fun-filled day, full of Watermelon Slush Drinks and Beefy goodness.

I love Buddhism and everything it stands for. Here, I snuck away from the girls and grabbed a few minutes of meditation. I can't wait to go next year!

Work sucks.

I work in a call center.  I have worked in a call center for over two years.  In these two years, I have learned a few things.

1)  People are horrible.  An individual is fine, but anytime you deal with people enough that you only remember them as a grouping, you realize what a bunch of horrid, mouth breathing, sociopathic group of ingrates they are.  And they all have the same complaints, thinking that they, among the MILLIONS of people I talk to on a regular basis, are the first to notice this special insight.  Here's some news for you.  You're not special, and at least 1 million people have noticed it before.  I don't care that you didn't like the voice portal.  You're with me now.  Let's get to business.

2)  People loose 20 IQ points on the phone.  See above.  It needed to be said, though.

3)  We try to care.  Most people you talk to in a support capacity (Tech support, helping you enroll in something, etc) actually DO want to help you.  The understand how frustrating it is, and want you to be taken care of so you get off the phone.  However, when you argue with your support representative about something, nothing gets done.  If you have an issue, bring it up to them, and see if they react.  Just like all jobs, some reps will be bad, but for the most part, they will either take the information, or they will tell you why they do not think it is important.  Trust their judgement.  They've probably done it longer than you have.

4)  Asking for a supervisor is funny.  Supervisors are not supervisors.  They are one step up on the totem pole, usually have the same training as the rep you just talked to, and only have advanced training in how to deal with hostile customers.  And usually, the rep you just talked to will tell the "Sup" exactly what you want, and they will laugh at you together.

There are other things.  I would list them, but getting a bit angry thinking about being on the phones on my day off.  As a general piece of advise to those who have read this far:  Talk to the people on the phone as you would want to be spoken too.  Yelling at someone just makes them less likely to help.

Now, for something different:

This is the best fountains of Wayne
single.  Forget Stacie's Mom.  This is better.

#TBT On the Boardwalk ~~ San Francisco Photo Blog #1

San Francisco Photo Blog #1: On The Boardwalk

Ten days in San Francisco was a dream come true! We took so many pictures, that I can not even begin to put them all into one blog. Therefore, welcome to installment #1: On the Boardwalk. This blog will depict our time on the Boardwalk of the San Francisco Ferry Building and Clock Tower, checking out the artwork, bazaar and see what the area had to offer on a crazy hot SF Afternoon.
The Not-So Bay Bridge

San Francisco Ferry Building Clock Tower (245 Feet tall with 4 dials measuring 22 FEET each!

So I have learned this is the California State Flag. For anyone who plays a Druid Tank in World of Warcraft, you want to move to Cali so you can raise a flag that has a BEAR on it.

Love this piece!

This piece is so complicated and twisty.. I love it

Top Selling Author Continues Book Series with New Title

Top Selling Author Continues Book Series with New Title

Leslie Trotter, author of “In Due Season: We Will Hear God’s Voice, plans release of new book in 2014.

For Immediate Release

PRLog (Press Release) - August 18 2014 - NEW ORLEANS -- Leslie Trotter’s first book, ‘In Due Season: We Will Hear God’s Voice', has been an online hit as it speaks to readers in a way that is both personal and meaningful.  Leslie’s story is woven around personal experiences, faith and the knowledge of the Bible.

“In Due Season's purpose is to reach out to many people to let them know that the voice of God is real.  He speaks to us in so many ways, even in visions and dreams.  We all have the ability to hear His voice and heed His warnings and hear His plans for our lives.  He has plenty of blessings and good news to bring to us, but we must acknowledge His presence always; even at our darkest moments in life,” Trotter shared.

"In Due Season: We Will Hear God’s Voice, is a book that is a must read." “Booklovers will learn just how much God loves us. He loves us enough to speak to us in dreams and to send a legion of His angels to protect us. This book is a testimony to the world that those who love the Lord should make it a desire and habit to seek God's voice on a daily basis.  There are many personal experiences that have happened in my life and there are a myriad of supernatural encounters.  Perhaps you're thinking that God doesn't speak in an audible voice in today's world. I have news for you, He does,” Trotter added.

The book, which is available online at Trotter’s site, on Amazon, Barnes and Noble and via Kindle, has had many positive reviews.  One reviewer recently wrote: “It was a wonderful book. It is very touching. I encourage everyone to purchase one.  Just reading chapter one makes you not want to put the book down. Reading this book also makes you feel like you are the person that's being touched by God.”
Trotter is also completing a new Christian romance novel titled, "Don't Throw the Rice, Yet!" which will be published in Winter 2014.

“When bad things happen and it seems like there is no glimmer of hope shining through, just when we're about to give up, that's when God whispers to us and gives a meaningful pep talk and edifies us,” Trotter said.
